Stephanie Michaud
CEO & President BioCanRx
Stéphanie Michaud is President and CEO of BioCanRx, a not-for-profit investing in the development of immunotherapies for the clinic to improve the lives of those affected by cancer. She brings over 20 years of public, government and private sector experience in research, science, technology and innovation (STI) policy and program delivery. She strives to create partnerships between government, not-for-profits, academia and industry to maximize the impact of research funded by BioCanRx on the lives of those affected by cancer. Dr. Michaud earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from McGill University and worked as a synthetic organic chemist for in the private sector. She currently serves as Director on the Board of Research Canada and is a past Board Director of the StemCell Network. She is a past alumna of both the Governor General’s Leadership Conference and inaugural adMare Executive Institute. She is a current mentor for the McGill NSERC CREATE ‘Women in Science’ One-on-One Mentoring Program having previously participatedin the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research Rising Stars mentorship program.
Under her leadership, BioCanRx has advanced commitments to EDI and Accessibility, leading to the annual independent third-party certification of BioCanRx EDI and Accessibility initiatives since 2020. In 2022, BioCanRx was the recipient of two national awards in recognition of our organizational leadership in adhering to the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility: the Diversio 2022 DEI Impact Award and BioTalent I.D.E.A.L. Bioscience Employer award.
