Moataz Daoud
Registered Pharmacist & Lead Medical Advisor-Dermatology at Sanofi Genzyme
Moataz Daoud is a registered pharmacist and Lead Medical Advisor at Sanofi Genzyme. He studied biopharmaceutical sciences at the University of Ottawa and went on to obtain his bachelors and doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Toronto.
During his training, Moataz worked both in hospital and community practice settings. He found himself drawn to immunology after being diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (type of arthritis) and decided to pursue a career in industry after experiencing the impact of innovative medicines as a patient. He got his start as an immunology medical science liaison at Amgen where he worked in rheumatology, dermatology, and endocrinology. He then moved to Sanofi Genzyme to support the launch of dupilumab, a new biologic being used to treat atopic conditions including asthma and eczema. He was recently promoted to the role of lead medical advisor where he will be the Canadian medical lead for the dermatology division.
Moataz also has a strong interest in advocacy and education volunteering with the Spondylitis Association and providing training for PharmD students from the University of Toronto.
