Eric Will Doerr is a Drug Substance Technical Lead for global biopharmaceutical manufacturer Sanofi with over a decade of bioprocess development, optimization, and manufacturing experience for biologics serving international markets. His expertise across biochemically synthesized products and processes has provided life-saving vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, and bioproducts to consumers worldwide, leading to subject matter recognition and advisory participation with Bioprocess Online publications and Bioprocess International conferences.
Eric provides technical lectures, panel sessions, and networking events across Ontario Engineering Faculties – including the University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, McMaster University, and the University of Western Ontario – delivering industry-relevant, future-state bioprocessing content to secure the next generation of biochemical engineering and bioprocessing experts.
Beyond industrial and academic pursuits, Eric actively supports 2SLGBTQIA+ and HIV/AIDS organizations through advocacy and philanthropic work. He has served as scientific and technical keynote speaker for the CANFAR Legacy Project and AIDS Committee of Durham Region’s HYPE Summit, actively empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ peoples through initiatives at Sanofi and his alma mater.
Eric sits on the Board of Directors for AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), the Industry Council for TMU’s Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and serves as an Advisory Board member for Bioprocess Online. His contributions toward inclusive practices at Sanofi earned him a position on their inaugural Canada Inclusion Council.
Eric holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and is a licensed professional engineer within the province of Ontario.
