Anthony Lostracco has served as Manager of Health Canada’s Drug Shortages Unit since July 2020, leading efforts address drug shortages across Canada. He works closely with provinces and territories, manufacturers, and medical stakeholder groups to identify and assess emerging shortages and to develop strategies to prevent them or reduce their impact. He also collaborates with international partners to share information on shortages and best practices.
Previously, Anthony worked for more than a decade as a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Inspector with Health Canada, where he contributed to the development of several GMP guidance documents. Before joining the federal government, he spent over 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry, building extensive experience in manufacturing and quality functions.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
