Equipment condition monitoring has been widely used to improve reliability and uptime. However, in the Bio Pharma industry, the complexity of the processes and batch cycles added significant challenges for the usage of the technology.

The Technical Services team at Sanofi Pasteur in Toronto, Ontario is thinking outside the box to develop solutions by applying the new cycle-based condition monitoring methodology for batch process equipment.

Alfred Yu with Sanofi Pasteur and Blair Fraser with Lakeside Controls will present a case study which highlights the use of artificial intelligence in processing the equipment condition monitoring data to improve manufacturing OEE (overall equipment effectiveness). OEE improvement increases capacity, reduces cost and potentially also reduces capital investment.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO ATTEND?

OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) improvement increases capacity, reduces cost and potentially also reduces capital investment.

During this session, you will have the opportunity to review a case study and learn how the use of artificial intelligence in processing the equipment condition monitoring data improves manufacturing OEE

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Equipment condition monitoring had been widely used to improve reliability and uptime. However, in the Bio Pharma industry, the complexity of the processes and batch cycles added significant challenges for the usage of the technology.

  • This presentation will demonstrate, using an ongoing, real life case most of the misconceptions and challenges in batch process Condition Monitoring and how success can be achieved and a path to AI for equipment Condition Monitoring.
